Custom Impound Contrabands Worth N20m in Jigawa

By Ibrahim Shuaibu in Kano

The Kano/Jigawa Comptroller of the Nigeria Customs,  Mathias Onoja Abutu, has said the command impounded assorted contraband goods valued at N20 millon.

He said the seized goods were discovered inside a warehouse  in a bush at Malam Madori town close to Maigatari, a border town with Niger Republic.

According to him, the Command had been able to make this big haul due to the unrelenting efforts of his field officers who were poised to rid Kano and Jigawa of smugglers.

”We have been making a lot of seizures, but this is a very spectacular one because apart from the volume of the goods which is involved, it was a very difficult task,” he said.
