Former governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Jonah David Jang, has berated his successor, Simon Bako Lalong, for attempting to divert attention from his poor performance in the past one year.

He urged him to tender an unserved apology to Plateau people for wasting the past one year, and for attempting to mortgage their future with the unpopular grazing reserve policy.
The Senator also accused Lalong of “miserably commissioning wells, filled potholes, uncompleted projects and already commissioned projects such as PLAGIS”, all in attempts to score cheap points.

He noted further: “The governor has continuously gone globe-trotting with no particular effect on the state or the people.”

In a press statement signed by his aide, Comrade Clinton Garuba, the Senator noted that his administration as Governor of the state witnessed towering achievements.

Jang added that he was not in hurry to “arrange some smokescreen of a commissioning just to score some cheap political points”.

According to him, “Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had a field day commissioning projects when he visited Plateau State during the lifetime of the Jang administration.”

He said rather than being committed to serving the people for which he was elected, Lalong was busy setting up avalanche of committees to investigate the past administration, which have yielded nothing in their outcomes, adding that “by now, Governor Lalong and his handlers should have realized that the last administration did its best in delivering the dividends democracy following laid down procedures meticulously.”
