Boko Haram: NGO to Empower 2000 IDPs in Yobe, Gombe

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Peace Rehabilitation and Reconciliation Initiative (PRRI) said arrangements are in top gear for the commencement of the second phase of its rehabilitation program for returning Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) whose communities were ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgents in Gombe and Yobe States respectively.

According to a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yusuf Msheliza, said the second phase of the programme which would commence between 19th and 30th of June is expected to cover the returning IDPS in Yobe and Gombe States and targeted at empowering 2,000 farming families.
Msheliza said the organisation has taken it upon itself to be helping to return 1,000 IDPs in each of the two states back to their various settlements.

He noted that the board at its 6th Executive meeting has approved the commencement of the second phase of the programme to be carried out in conjunction with the State Emergency Management Agencies in the two States as a way of helping those whose communities have been totally liberated from the terrorists by the Nigerian Military operations in the North-east
