A youth group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Concerned Youth group, on Tuesday issued a seven-day ultimatum to the leadership of the various organs of the party to do something urgently to resolve the crisis or it would mobilize its members across Nigeria to take over the affairs of the party.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday morning within the precincts of the party’s  national secretariat, the chairman of the PDP Rescue Concerned Group, Aderemi Olufemi, said they have waited for the leaders for too long to resolve the present crisis.
He said rather than quickly resolving the problem and move on to reposition the PDP for its cardinal opposition role, the leaders have continued to bicker.
He wondered what is making it difficult for the party to organize a credible national convention and elect a new leadership.
“We are giving the leaders of the party a seven-day ultimatum within which they are resolve all the crisis in the party failing which the youth members of the party will be forced to mobilize its branches nationwide to take over the affairs of the PDP.
“We demand that an immediate withdrawal of all litigations against the party and we demand for commencement of dialogue in order to resolve all outstanding issues within the party.
“It is unfortunate that our leaders did not consider the impact of their actions on the Edo elections which is likely to undermine the interest of the party. We hereby set up an 11-man committee to seek to resolve the problems besetting the party at the moment,” Olufemi said.
