Following Monday’s forceful takeover of the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the governors elected on the platform of the party, the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Assembly caucus have convened a meeting for Wednesday to address the latest development in the party.

Other people expected at the meeting holding at the Ondo Governor Lodge, Abuja, are former governors of the party and former principal officers of the National Assembly.

The embattled Chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff took over the party and declared that he would be at the helm of affairs till 2018.

The PDP Governors’ Forum, in a statement by its Director General, Osaro Onaiwu, explained that though Sheriff was not invited to the meeting, the purpose of the gathering is to find a lasting solution to the crisis bedevelling the party.
