Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudum Nwuche, has said that what led to the failure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to retain power was the absolute lack of justice and fair- play in its affairs.

He said that the first litmus test for the success of any political party is premised on the level of transparency and fair-play involved in the process, adding that APC must not make the same mistake PDP made.

Nwuche said: “What makes a party strong is the justice it dispenses in the selection of candidates and the screening exercise is the first in that process.

“What killed many parties in the past, including the PDP, is injustice. In APC, I know that that will not be here.”###

According to him, anybody contesting or aspiring for any political office on the platform of the party must have a sense of being treated fairly and justly too.

The former deputy speaker said this at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the inauguration of the screening and appeals committees for the upcoming Edo gubernatorial elections which he serves as Chairman while Senator Adeleke Mamora chairs the Appeals Committee.

While inaugurating the committees, the National Organising Secretary, Senator Osita Isunazo said that the party has assembled eminent members of the society to carry out the exercise.
