By Olakiitan Victor in Ado Ekiti

As part of their efforts to ensure total shut-down of Ekiti State in
view of the strike declared by the workers, labour unions on Tuesday
picketed government offices in Ado Ekiti to enforce compliance with the
strike order.

Places visited by the labour leaders included the state secretariat
and the old Governor’s Office, where a few workers performing skeletal
services were chased out of their offices.

The workers declared the strike 15 days ago to compel Ayo Fayose –led
government to accede to their request with regards to the payment of five
months’ salary arrears owed  by the state government .

The Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress, Com. Ade Adesanmi, who spoke
with newsmen, stated that they embarked on the picketing upon
getting wind of the fact that some of their colleagues were
asked by some Permanent Secretaries to report to work.
