Police Set to Premiere First Exclusive TV Series Tuesday

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has concluded arrangement to premiere its first exclusive TV series debuting Desmond Elliot, Segun Arineze and a host of other top Nollywood actors on Tuesday in Abuja.

Making the disclosure on Saturday in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Mrs. Olabisi Kolawole, said the TV series titled: ‘Beyond Your Sight’ will be produced in collaboration with Mr. Lancelot Imasuen, an award winning movie producer is aimed at sensitizing the entire populace on how to be security conscious at all times.

Kolawole, acknowledged that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase IG conceptualised the TV series as a platform to bridge the gap between and the Police and the public through education and enlightenment.

According to her, the TV series aims at bringing to the fore the concerted efforts of the Nigeria Police Force at preventing and unraveling crime, while at the same time educate, sensitise and enlighten members of the public about their security and safety.

Kolawole said it is the expectation that on the long run, the TV series will aid the rebranding process of the Force, enhance the personal security of citizens, and galvanize citizens to their obligations within the national security space of the country.

After the premiere on Tuesday in Abuja, the Force Spokesperson said 13 episodes of the TV series which makes up the quarterly production have already have been produced with the intent to commence broadcasting of the movies on different stations across the country.
Kolawole said the series will disseminate landmark operational intelligence, investigative and prosecutorial exploits of the Force with the aim of showcasing the professional capacity and achievements of the Police over the years.

She said: “Though the Nigeria Police has had its fair share of institutional challenges, the Force under the leadership of Arase has laid pathways that is engendering the evolution of a new Police Force, a Force that will not only take pride in itself, but one that will change the narratives and give social meaning to policing.”

On how much will the Force spend in bank rolling the project, she said: “It is nothing much, it is not huge sums of monies that really make impacts, it is really efforts and passion.

“The IG has passion to see that crime is reduced drastically in the country. It is not about millions of naira that will help, apart from the cutting edge technology platform that he has put in place, he wants to devise different means of sensitizing the public towards making sure that they secure themselves through community policing.”
