Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has declared that with the decision by a multinational firm, CT Cosmos Nigeria Ltd to invest in a massive power generation project of over $150 million in his state, “Plateau will soon become a centre of attraction for power generation.”

He has therefore urged the Federal Government to give all necessary logistic supports to the company to make the project a reality.

Lalong, who received the MD/CEO of the firm, Chief Philip Chukwuike in his office, noted that “with the protracted power generation problems we have in Nigeria, to have over 70 megawatt generated on the Plateau is not a joke.”
The Governor said the many advantages that accrue to the state cannot be over-emphasised, adding that “aside from having additional power supply, our youths will be employed and revenue will be generated for the state.”

Speaking earlier, Chukwuike, who was with two of his management staff, Mr. Henry Opara and Prince Segun Ayodele, reassured that “within the next few months Nigeria will witness revolution in electricity generation which will start from Panyam in Plateau State.”

He said CT Cosmos has chosen a technical partner in Siemens, a leading supplier of system for power generation and transmission, and global giant in electrification, automation and digitalisation for the execution of the solar photovoltaic (PV) project due to the company’s proven expertise in delivering high quality solutions, technical support and services.

Noting that the project will last for minimum of 20 years, Chukwuike said, “And I make bold to tell you that we are going to engage the best hands to handle the project. We are going to bring light, empowerment, education, and several job opportunities.”
The MD, who said he will personally be on ground to oversee the progress of the project, reassured that “we will meet and exceed your expectation.”
