Kano state Governor,  Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that the state government has suspended the five kilometres road initiated by his predecessor along with technical schools across the state due to paucity of funds.

According to him, the five-kilometre road project in each of the 44 local government areas of the state is a huge investment, pointing out that funding them is a big task before the state government.

He spoke at the Coronation Hall on Sunday as part of activities to mark his first anniversary in office.

He said that it is an open truth that most of the projects were jointly financed by the State and the 44 local government councils.

Ganduje noted that due to the saddened financial situation on ground, local governments in the state are unable to pay their monthly salaries.
