ICSAN’s Conference to Boost Members’ Value

In a bid to drive membership and promote members’ welfare and professional competence at the grassroots level, the Institute of Chartered Secretary and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) Lagos branch has made it a habit to hold annual and quarterly conferences over the years. Consequently, preparation is currently on top gear for another quarter business meeting, which is to benefit all those who are involved in leadership at different levels in the private and public sectors.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to THISDAY Corporate Headquarters in Apapa, Lagos, Tuesday, the Chairman of ICSAN, Lagos State Chapter, Biola Laseinde, said this quarter’s edition, billed to hold at the Oduduwa Hall, South Sun Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos on June 2 by 10am, would be focusing on the theme ‘Harnessing Your Value as a Chartered Secretary and Administrator’.

Speaker at the event, she revealed will be Dr. Adaralegbe, Partner Babalakin & Co. and a fellow of the institute while other discussants are Mrs. Ese Nkadi, Head, Institutional Trust and Loan Agency, Stanbic IBTC, Mr. Augustine Shimeobi, a notable maritime practitioner and MD/CEO Blessedman Freight Limited and both successful members of the institute.

Laseinde reiterated that the event will be a stimulating session to showcase the function of chartered secretaries and administrators as company secretaries, board support and multiple area they can function and practice effectively, adding that it will attract company secretaries, board and governance practitioners and aspiring chartered secretaries from various industries.

Laseinde who stressed that the institute is a professional body dedicated to excellence in corporate governance and administration, noted, “The ICSAN educational and professional structure is also dedicated to the task of broadening the professional horizons of tomorrow’s managers by providing programmes on a wide range of subjects that lead to qualification that is nationally and internationally recognised.”

“The Lagos Chapter like other state chapters, is an offshoot of the national body created to drive membership and promote members’ welfare and professional competence at the grassroots level. This is done through members’ forum, annual international conferences and quarterly business meetings”, she said.
