Support Fund Donates Medical Equipment to Boko Haram Victims

The Victims Support Fund (VSF) has donated medical equipment and hospital consumables worth millions of naira to Borno state government for treatment of Boko Haram victims in the troubled state.

Prof. Sunday Ochoche, the VSF Executive Director, said during the presentation of the items to Borno State Commissioner of Health; Dr. Haruna Mshelia, at the Central Medical Stores, Maiduguri, on Saturday, that the donation was part of efforts aimed at enhancing medical treatment and rehabilitation of victims of terrorism and insurgency in the state.

He disclosed that the items were presented in partnership with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Gabasawa Women and Children Initiatives (GWCI).

Ochoche said: “It is a privilege for VSF to be part of this very useful intervention in support of victims of terrorism in the North-East sub-region of the country; and enhance their medical care and treatments.

“It is quite unique that we are in partnership in this case with an organisation -GWCI that is working nationally and internationally to source this materials, we brought in our own capacities from VSF to facilitate the movement of the items to the state by providing logistics.”
