The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Ekiti State  on Friday trooped to the streets to sensitize the people on the need to join the
ongoing nationwide strike called to protest against the hike in fuel price.
.

During the protest, banks operating in Ado Ekiti were picketed and both the customers and staff were ejected from the banking halls.

The Congress  had earlier held a protest  on Wednesday when the industrial crisis began across the country.

The NLC Chairman, Com. Ade Adesanmi, and the Secretary of Joint
Negotiating Council,  Com. Blessing Oladele , warned those who have
been defying the stay-at-home order to be wary or face the
consequences.

When customers visited some of the banks , which opened for full
operation on Thursday , they were told that the NLC leaders have come to disrupt transactions and could no longer withstand the heat and embarrassment meted out to them.

However, people were seen doing their businesses in Ado Ekiti, while commercial drivers and motorcyclists have full returned to work in all the towns .
