Osun Assembly Orders Full Automation of Tertiary Institution Accounts

Osun State House of Assembly has ordered full automation of various fees payable in all the state-owned tertiary institutions.

The report is to be implemented within the next three months.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye who gave , the hint said directive follows the adoption of the report of the audit exercise by the House Committee on Public Accounts on the management of the Internally-Generated Revenue of the four state-owned tertiary institutions at the plenary on Monday.

The affected institutions, the statement said, are Osun State Polytechnic, Iree; Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke; Osun State Colleges of Education, Ila-Orangun and Ilesa respectively.

Presenting the audit report, the Chairman of the Public Account Committee, Rasheed Afolabi revealed that the actual amount generated on school fees were not disclosed to the government by the institutions.

Oyintiloye stressed that Afolabi also said that the investigation unveiled that there was no record to substantiate how the grants from the Federal Government’s TETFUND were being utilized by the institutions.
