The Federal Government has been urged to do all it can to ensure teachers across the country and at various levels of the school system are accorded the same treatment as the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The Principal, Nurul – Bayan International Academic, Mallam Adufe Taofik, made the plea while speaking to THISDAY on the occasion of the school’s 2016 Education Funfair recently held in Abuja.
He explained that the assertion, ‘Teachers reward is in heaven’, remains true but doesn’t mean that teachers should not be well paid.
He noted that if teachers are well paid like their counterparts in other sectors, it would go a long way in creating healthy competition among teachers in various institutions and other fields of study as they would have nothing to worry about in terms of welfare and life after service.
