The Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Salisu Fagge, on Saturday called on members of the Barewa College Old Boys Association to emulate the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar 111, by contributing to the development of their alma mater.

Speaking with newsmen ahead of the meeting of the old boys of the College 1971 set scheduled to hold on May 28, Fagge urged the old boys to emulate the monarch by giving back to their alma mater.

Fagge, who is a member of 1971 set, said it was only by doing so that they could improve infrastructure in their alma mater.

The Commissioner acknowledged the efforts of Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111 in mobilising old boys to improve infrastructure in the school.

He noted that the Sultan singlehandedly constructed an Assembly hall in the College and had made tremedous contribution towards the upliftment of the College.

He stressed the need for the old boys to contribute their quota in renovating classroooms, buildings, library and hostels in the College.

According to him, this would go a long way in improving teaching and learning in the College.

He said the forthcoming meeting of the Association would enable the old boys to come up with modalities with a view to improving infrastructure in the school.

Fagge stated that Barewa College has produced two presidents and eminent personalities in the country and that as such it behoves on the old boys to turn around the fortunes of the school.
