The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)  and private marketers operating in Ado Ekiti on Thursday started complying with the new pump price of N145 per litre for petrol  as announced by the federal government on Wednesday.

Those who bought the product at the mega station along Ado-Iworoko road stated that it was sold for N145 regulated price.

Similar situation was witnessed in all the NNPC subsidiary stations, particularly those holding franchise with the regulatory body.

NNPC petrol station located along Federal Polytechnic road in Ado Ekiti sold at N145 per litre, with the new price tag
conspicuously displayed at the entrance and on the dispensers.

The same situation was witnessed in all private stations that
were dispensing fuel to customers, many of

which had been selling between N110 and  N120 per litre in the last two weeks.

However, many of the fuel station that had suspended operation since Monday because of the rumour that the Federal Government was contemplating   an increment , had started working , probably because of the  outrageous profit they expected to make.

But long queues were seen in all the NNPC and other private filling stations  that were dispensing fuel , because many of the petrol stations were still under lock and key as at Thursday.
