The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday grilled the former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, for his alleged involvement in the N500 million collected by the State’s Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ntufam John Okon.

The money was said to be from the sleazy $115 million purportedly lodged by the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison- Madueke, with a Nigerian bank in controversial circumstances during the 2015 electioneering campaign period.

Imoke, according to the EFCC operatives, arrived their Port- Harcourt office at 10:15am on Wednesday and is answering questions from his investigators.

Also arrested on Wednesday is the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Imasuen, and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of the State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who are undergoing interrogation for collecting a sum of N700 million from the same $115 million Diezani’s funds.
