Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has restated that there was no going back on the implementation of 30 percent of the nation’s annual budget for capital projects in order to address infrastructural decay across the length and breadth of the federation.

He also attributed the loss of values and integrity as the bane of African development at the public presentation of a book, “Nigeria: The Challenges of Growth and Development” by The House of Lords, Nigeria, on Monday.

Osinbajo reassured Nigerians on the readiness of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to take Nigeria to its manifest destination.

He said it is high time Nigerian elites rose to solve the array of problems facing the country, adding that “Society fails when the elites abdicate its roles to a large extent. Today ethnicity and religion, corruption and abuse of power mediocrity are being encouraged to divide the nation’s potentials of being a great country.

“For Nigeria’s growth and development, three principles are needed, first is integrity, second is the discipline of implementation and third the rigorous enforcement of law and order.

“President Buhari has no agenda than to lead this country to its manifest destination. Our nation is ready to grow and we will get there in your lifetime. It is the business of the Nigerian elites to promote values and integrity.”
The Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of Airtel Nigeria, Oba Otudeko described the book as a tool aimed at national development.

Otudeko said “There is no better time than now to contribute ideas for nation building.”
