Security Task Force Parades Gun-runners in Jos

Special Task Force (STF), the multi-security task force deployed to restore peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi State, has paraded a syndicate of four gunrunners apprehended around Du community of Jos South local government area of the state on Sunday.

Commander of the task force, Major General Tagbo Ude, explained that “this syndicate uses women and children as shields to evade arrest. Imagine that women and children came out to demonstrate naked and tried to attack my men when they wanted to arrest the gun runners.”‬

He revealed a dangerous trend in Plateau State where women and children are used as shields by criminals in an attempt to resist arrest.

He said ‪the suspects who gave their names as Robert Ache, Daniel Manchafa, Rwang Bitrus and Davou Chuwang, were planning to assemble six AK47 rifles to sell at the cost of N400,000 when they ran out of luck and were apprehended by security agents before they could complete the deal.
