A socio-ultural women group in the northern part of the country, Arewa Women Arise (AWA) on Thursday advised President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his electoral campaign promises to the people of the country rather than seeking endorsement for the 2019 election.

It noted in a statement issued in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, and signed by its National Coordinator, Hajia Risikat Abdullahi, that Buhari is already faltering and failing to deliver on the promises he made to Nigerians.

The statement said: “he President is already backsliding on the promised 5,000 jobs to jobless Nigerians.

“There is also the embarrassing case of removing over 10 University Vice Chancellors without consulting the governing councils of those Institutions.

“There is a protracted long fuel queue all over the country.

“Instead of the President to focus on these and other important issues, he is busy seeking endorsement for 2019 that is still a clear three years away”.

The group however called on all women and other well-meaning Nigerians to support all the good efforts of the president and to always speak up to ensure “we continually keep the legs of President Buhari on the rewarding path of delivering good governance to Nigerians.

“We advise the president to focus on his present assignment and to immediately halt the shameless manipulation of judicial process by vested interests.

“President Muhammadu Buhari swore to protect and defend the laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria. But under his watch, the law is not only being trampled on, individuals now teleguide the law to deliver their wishes.
