Traditional rulers in Kwara state on Monday appealed to  President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in what they called political trial of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT).

At the end of their meeting in Ilorin, the state capital, on Monday, they  described the on-going trial of Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) as nothing but “political vendetta and persecution of our son”.

They said Buhari’s intervention would be necessary to save the All Progressives Congress (APC) from being plunged into unnecessary crisis.

The monarchs spoke under the aegis of the forum of Ilorin Emirate Magajis and Alanguas.

They noted in a statement signed by Alajagusi,Alhaji Abdulwahab Sanni (Chairman)and the Magaji Nda of Ilorin , Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammad (Secretary) that APC ” is already enmeshed in leadership crisis as a result of the treatment being meted to Saraki”.
