Ondo 2016: PDP Youths Want Party Ticket Ceded to South

As jostling for gubernatorial tickets of political parties ahead of November 16 election in Ondo State heats up, youths under the aegis of Ondo South Senatorial District. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Solidarity Assembly on Tuesday said that the party’s candidate should come from their area.

The request of the youths was contained in a communique issued at the end of the inaugural meeting of the group held at Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.

The communique signed by the group’s Director of Press and Publicity, Mr. Dolire Ojo Ayokunle, noted that over the years the southern district has evolved a political culture of solidarity for a common cause as demonstrated in the electoral behaviours of the people.

The group said: “In year 2007, notwithstanding the incumbency of one of our own, the people of the district demonstrated unprecedented solidarity during the elections, in the Election Petitions Tribunals (as witnesses, lawyers), including our seasoned journalists and other public commentators which altogether brought the present administration in the state to power”.
