Royaltry Awards Appoints Erelu Dosunmu Chairman

The Nigerian Royalty Awards, a veritable platform for the growth of the traditional institution in Nigeria and grassroots development, has appointed as its Chairman an industrialist, the “grand living legend and custodian of Nigeria’s culture”, Erelu Kuti of Lagos, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu.

According to a statement by Omoba Kenneth Agbegbele, National Co-ordinator, NRA, the decision was taken recently at the Extra-ordinary meeting of the Advisory board and Awards committee members.

She is an industrialist, philanthropist, fashion icon, a tourism enthusiast and culture activist, whose appointment is due to her outstanding credentials in management and her successful drive to change the face of African fashion.

Adegbele said the board will benefit immensely when she brings her wealth of experience to bear on the organization as a first class royalty awards event in the country that will be unequalled in Africa.

This year’s award with the Theme “Good Governance, Transparency and the Challenges of a Developing Economy,” the Nigerian perspective, will be chaired by her during the course of the year.

According to the Awards Committee and Advisory Board, this is indeed a new dawn and development in the history of the organization which started in 2001 and the beginning of a new orientation in the way of doing things and a step towards the realization of the dreams of our founding father, Amb. Segun Olusola of blessed memory. The NRA is an Award event which focuses on the promotion of the traditional institution, socio-cultural values and grassroots development and is conferred on individuals and organizations with unique distinction in service to humanity.
