The Labour Party (LP), Ondo State said on Tuesday that it would not participate in the April 23 Local Government Election in the state.
The clarification came against the report of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) that LP was one of the political parties under its umbrella that would participate in the said election.
The position of the LP on the Local Government Election was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary of the party in the state, Ronke Akerele.
It warned the state governor, Dr usegun Mimiko, against creating crisis in the party with divisive politics of pseudo control.
In a swift reaction, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade rose stoutly in defence of his boss.
