Omon-Julius Onabu in Asaba
The police at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, have reportedly arrested a man identified simply as Sunny for allegedly hacking a middle aged woman to death along Agbor-Sakponba Road at the weekend.
The suspect was said to have stood in front of the victim’s ash color Toyota saloon car and, during a brief exchange, descended on her with a machete, inflicting several deep cuts all over her body before any help could reach the Asaba-based victim.
Although the state police command spokeswoman, Celestina Kalu, could not confirm the story, THISDAY learnt that sympathisers had rushed to the scene of the dastardly act when they heard the victim shouting “Sunny! Sunny!” but the woman had already collapsed in the pool of her own blood dead when they descended on her assailant.
A source said, “The murder was so callous. The suspect used cutlass to cut her ear, stomach, buttocks, back, laps and spread her legs on the road.”
