April 5 has been given as the deadline for Area Pilgrims Officers to remit all hajj fares collected from intending pilgrims in the 25 local government areas of the state to the Niger state Pilgrims Welfare Commission.
The Pilgrims Commission which announced the deadline in Minna on Friday said that area Pilgrims officer who failed to remit fares collected would not only be punished but that the seats allocated to the local government area would be given to other local government areas.
The Chairman of the Pilgrims Commission, Justice Jibrin Ndatsu Ndajiwo, rtd., who gave the deadline in Minna, also announced the number of seats allocated to each local government area for this year’s hajj.
He said a total of 3,194 seats had been allocated to Niger State by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for 2016 pilgrimage out of which 2, 458 seats were shared to the 25 local government areas of the state.
