Though majority of the successful labels strutting down the runway usually opt for understated, timeless elegance with muted tones and clean lines, sometimes a touch of flamboyance is what can really make a girl stand out from the crowd – and that’s where the intriguing fusion of art and fashion, comes into its element.
Lately , it seems a lot of fashionistas have taken a keen interest in outfits inspired by art, while fashion houses are also on an accelerated quest to connect to the art scene. This, brings to mind the question, “Why the growing interests in bold motifs and colour in the fashion industry?”
To answer this, we have to look at that age-old question of what makes both fashion and art great, in order to begin to understand why they marry so well. The answer is that great fashion is able to do what great art does, and vice versa – that is to communicate without words.
As we scramble to try and make sense of the changing world around us and find new and exciting ways to express ourselves, letting our outfits speak seems to be one fun alternative and fashionable trend that we all should try.
Quote- “One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.”
