The spiritual leader, Christ Apostolic Church, Odi Ajaye, Pastor John Shola Ojo, has called on the government to improve the sate of health and wellbeing of children and youth in Lagos and Nigeria at large.

Ojo made the call while speaking with the newsmen in Lagos at the launching ceremony of his foundation ‘Victorious Garden Ministry’ a non-governmental organisation, catering for orphans, widow and the needy in the country.

According to him, many children suffer ulcer as a result of lack of good food, which in turn has not only affected their health, but their behaviours and attitudes towards the society.

He said, “the primary problem of this children is food and shelter, if they are not eating good food, it will definitely lead to bad health conditions, therefore government needs to help and improve their health related issue.

“Most especially, orphans. These children are there on the streets of Lagos doing nothing and the government is not doing anything about it,” he said.

Pastor Ojo, explained that the situation he found the Lagos State rehabilitation centre was not encouraging. He therefore implored the state government to see the need to improve the healthcare sector, and most especially, in areas targeting orphans and the less privileged.

He added that some children and youths, venture into prostitution and criminal activities because of poverty and lack of proper care.

The clergy also urged governments, individuals and corporate organisations to join hands with the foundation in its task of combating all children and youth-related challenges in the society in order to have a better Nigeria.
