After Match-day three games of the ongoing 2016 BOA Lawyers Football Tournament were concluded at the weekend, the men have been separated from the boys with the Round of 12 winners emerging.

Draws for the Last 12 stage are to be conducted today at the Astroturf 2000 venue of the tournament in Ikoyi, Lagos.

In Group A, ADVOCAAT emerged the top team with five points while Banwo & Ighodalo and Lagos State Ministry of Justice (LSMJ) who ended the group phase on four points advanced into knock out phase.

Group B was a straight affair with both Olisa Agbakoba Legal (seven points) and Pinheiro on five the clear leaders. The third team from the group is SOOB/Renascence on four points.

Group C lived up to prediction as all the three top teams- Olajide Oyewole, Aluko & Oyebode and newcomers, Simmonscooopers/ Femi Atoyebi finishing on five points apiece. Olajide Oyewole picked the top spot via a better +2 goals advantage.

Both Aluko & Oyebode and newcomers, Simmonscooopers/ Femi Atoyebi ended on same +1 but A&O picked the second slot on superior goals for rule. The team had five goals for as against the three for by the later. Yet, all three teams are into the Last 12 stage.

Tayo Oyetibo/B. Osipitan remains the team to watch out for in this edition. It pooled maximum nine points from three matches. Just like it happened in Group C, both Falana & Falana and AELEX ended on same four points but Falana picked the second spot on superior +2 advantage.

Last weekend, Tayo Oyetibo/B. Osipitan’s 6-2 whitewash of Rickey Tarfa/Punuka headlined the last group stage matches. Tayo Oyetibo scored a hat-trick in that encounter.

Olajide Oyewole also recorded 3-1 victory against Wole Olanipekun/ Dele Adesina in Group C while Banwo & Ighodalo lost 0-1 to ADVOCAAT. The other winning team of the weekend was LSMJ who defeated Probitas/B. Ayorinde 1-0.
