The Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN) is set to hold her 32nd National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) as its strives to chat a way forward on the present health challenges in the country.

The conference tagged Abuja 2016, with the theme: “Universal Health Coverage: The way forward in attaining SDGs in Nigeria,” will hold in Abuja between 14th and 18th if March, 2016.

In a statement issued wednesday by the Public Secretary of APHPN, Dr. Dan Gadzama said the conference is aimed at bringing experts in public health, both local and international, to chat the way forward in the present public health challenges.

The association which is an umbrella body of Medical Doctors, also specializes in Public Health with the sole aim of advancing public health practice in Nigeria.

The sub themes of the conference also include; Sustaining the momentum in polio eradication in Nigeria, Emerging, re-emerging and neglected tropical diseases, lessons learnt from Ebola virus disease, Public health challenges of managing internally displaced persons in Nigeria, The role of quality maternal health in achieving gender equality among others.
