The Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to Nigeria, Mr. Job Mbengono has said Nigeria has the trade potential to boost its trade volume with his country.
Mbengono stated this when he led a delegation to visit President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (ACCI) Mr. Tony Ejinkeonye in Abuja
He said the low volume of trade between both countries could be improved upon in the near future, given the trade potential of Nigeria especially the robust private sector business opportunities.
“Nigeria is a giant nation in the region. We know about the potentials of Nigeria. The businesses that we have are more from European and American countries. But we will like to do business with African countries too and there is no better country to invest than Nigeria.
“I have witnessed how aggressive the Nigerian private business sector is and I want to attract that to Equatorial Guinea”, the envoy said.
The ambassador expressed his country’s determination to improve the trade relationship between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
The envoy therefore called for partnership with ACCI to assist his country at increasing trade relations with Nigeria.
The President of ACCI in his remarks pledged the chamber’s readiness to assist the embassy to identify areas of investment interest amongst ACCI’s members and the business community in Equatorial Guinea
Ejikeonye said the Chamber was focusing on growing the trading relations with other chambers of commerce in African countries to attract investment into the Federal Capital Territory.
He said ACCI’s trade facilitation endeavours and investment, drive was in line with the current government policies of promoting trade and investment in the country.
