Nigeria international Alex Iwobi is in line to start for Arsenal in tuesday’s FA Cup tie against Hull City.
Arsene Wenger has included the 19-year-old Iwobi in the match day squad and he could now make his fifth start for ‘The Gunners’ this season.
The Arsenal manager has rated the Nigeria star very highly.
“He’s a creative player who has a high work rate and team spirit,” he remarked.
“Overall he’s a player who develops very well.
“He has a big passion for the game.
“He can score, he can play on the flanks or through the middle.”
Iwobi, boasts 10 appearances in his debut season for Arsenal, starting four times.
Three of those starts have come in the FA Cup, a competition Arsenal have won for the last two seasons, where he has been fielded in an attacking midfield role.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Leicester City are ready to beat Manchester United to CSKA Moscow star and Arsenal fan Ahmed Musa, according to reports.
UK’s Daily Express revealed yesterday that club’s representatives have travelled to the Russian capital to resume talks with Musa’s employers, as the player has also attracted strong interest from Old Trafford.
After failing to land the Nigeria international at King Power Stadium in January, the Foxes are reportedly preparing a £18 million summer bid for his services.
However, the Super Eagles skipper, who scored the winner for his side against Spartak Moscow at the weekend, has made no secret of his desire to join Arsenal.
“I would be happy if I was wanted by Arsenal. I have supported the team since the age of six,” the 23-year-old admitted.
“Nwankwo Kanu has been my idol since childhood. It will be fantastic to play for Arsenal.”
Ahmed Musa, who joined CSKA Moscow from Dutch outfit VVV-Venlo in January 2012, has scored seven goals from 19 Russian Premier League appearances thus far this season.
