Olakiitan Victor in Ado Ekiti
The lingering acrimony between Governor Ayodele Fayose and the federal government is gradually assuming a dangerous twist as the Ekiti State House of Assembly has cried out over alleged arrest of four lawmakers by the Department of State Services.
It also lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly deploying state machinery to humiliate opposition, with the evil intention to coerce members of the assembly to impeach Fayose.
The House, through its speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, said the new plot was a desperate attempt by the All Progressives Congress to destabilise Fayose’s government and forcefully remove him from office.
Fayose has been a consistent critic of the Buhari-led government since the president assumed office May 29, 2015.
At a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, Oluwawole, said the DSS, numbering ten, allegedly invaded the assembly complex on Friday’s evening and arrested the four lawmakers during the stampede.
