Kwara State Government on Thursday ordered the sack of former Super Eagles Midfielder and Administrator of Kwara Football Academy (KFA), Mr. Mutiu Adepoju with immediate effect.
Adepoju was appointed as the Administrator of the Kwara Football Academy in January 2014 and his presence actually changed the lost glory of the academy with players featuring for Nigeria U-17 and U-20 competitions respectively.
THISDAY learnt that, Mr. Adepoju was on Wednesday relieved of his appointment at the college in Ilorin by the management of Kwara Holdings Limited.
He was asked to handover all the academy properties to the most senior officer of the academy pending the appointment of new administrator.
Speaking on the development yesterday, Mr. Adepoju said that, “it is a normal thing you know, I thank God for the time I have spent here and I know I have made my mark as far as the academy is concerned”.
Adepoju before his retirement from active football, had most of his career in the Spanish La Liga and represented Nigeria in three world cup competitions.
The ex-Super Eagles player, a holder of the UEFA professional coaching license and was once the manager of Shootings Stars Sports Club, Ibadan.
