The Minister of State for Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika, on Thursday said the quest to concession the maintenance of airport infrastructure and the building of new ones across the country is to maintain high standard and efficiency in the running of airport operations in tandem with global standard.
Sirika made the disclosure in a statement signed by the ministry during a courtesy visit by the technical delegation from the Turkish Embassy in Abuja, in his office.
The minister said government is strongly committed to providing an enabling environment for investors to thrive in the aviation sector with rules and regulations to make the industry economically attractive.
He added that the government has also made concerted effort on the improvement of security in the country in view of the security challenges the nation is facing saying that the issue of insurgency will soon be a thing of the past.
While reiterating the position of Nigeria in the African sub region, especially in the sector and considering its size and geographical location as it concerns investments, he added that these factors guarantee the adequate return on investment overtime.
He expressed delight at the interest shown by Turkish government and firms in Nigeria’s aviation industry and assured them of the federal government’s openness and preparedness to work with all serious minded and sincere investors.
In his address, the leader of the Technical Delegation and the Commercial Counsellor, Turkish Embassy in Abuja, Mr. Ahmed Zafer Gulsen, pledged an unflinching and continued partnership with Nigerian Government in the development of its aviation industry.
