Soludo to Head Agulu Lake Resort Board

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has appointed former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to head the board of Agulu Lake Resort centre.

Obiano who inaugurated the board at the governor’s lodge, Amawbia, yesterday said he has confidence in the professor of Econometrics to steer the board successfully.

Agulu Lake Resort which was initially started by former governor, Peter Obi, was completed by Chief Obiano and handed over to Golden Tulip for effective management.

The board consisted of a 9-man committee including the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Ifeatu Onejeme, the Managing Director, Anambra State Investments Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), Mr. Joe Billy Ekwunife.

Others members are Mrs. Ifeyinwa Obegolu, Chief Patrick Chidolue, Mr. Chris Ameke, the General Manager, Golden Tulip, West Africa, Mr. Amaechi Ndili, the CEO Stanel Company, Mr. Stanley Uzochukwu and Dr. Chike Akinyuli.
Obiano urged them to direct the affairs of the Hotel with the joint venture Agreement between Anambra State Government and Golden Tulip Company.
The governor directed them to promptly build the hotel’s capacity, occupancy and advance it to world class standard.

The hotel, Obiano had promised would take off before the inauguration of his second term in office, which comes up on 17th March as a sort of commitment to Agulu people, where his predecessor hails from as a demonstration of his love for them.

He said, “You are to ensure the prosperity of the hotel and direct its affairs while meeting the appropriate interests of its stakeholders.

“Determine the company’s vision and mission to guide and set the pace for its current operations and future development.’’

He expressed confidence in the board, re-echoing that his administration was ready to partner any company or individual to further attract other recreational facilities to project it to global recognition.
