Super Eagles sponsors, Aiteo Group has graciously offered to be the sole financier of Bulldozers Football Club, a grassroots outfit to be operated by National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
NYCN President, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, made this disclosure on Tuesday at the unveiling of the club and the swearing in of Oladimeji Ekengba and Bassey Henshaw as the substantive Deputy President and Secretary General of the Council.
Ugochinyere said Aiteo Chairman, Benny Peters, a Life Patron of the Council, is the sole architect of the Bulldozers and has given 100 percent assurance to take the outfit to the national level.
“There will no problem with funding as Aiteo, one of the indigenous groups in Nigeria and a key partner of CAF and NFF has promised to ensure this dream sees the light of the day,” Ugochinyere said.
Victor Danladi is team captain of NYCN, while Bishop Amakiri, expected to deploy his vast expertise in ensuring speedy growth of the club is named the Technical Adviser.
A former Super Eagles star will be unveiled as the Chief Coach pending the conclusion of terms of contract.
The Bulldozers will campaign in the FCT Second Division League.
Ugochinyere said the football club was born out of the need to engage the youths, using the instrument of sports from the grassroots to national level.
“Apart from playing in the football association games we will also be launching the Nigeria youths grassroots sports competition to haunt for new talents from the poorest of villages, bringing them to national relevance”.
NYCN congress will also convoke the National Youth Roundtable Series on unity and security as a platform for engagement and consensus building among Nigerians on Knotty national issues.
Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Speaker House of Representatives Hon Yakubu Dogara will be conferred as the National Patrons at the Roundtable Series.
