Endorses Udom Emmanuel for second term

The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has denied any plan to defect to another political party
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the Ikot Ekpene senatorial district held at the Independent Hall in Abak Local Government Area of the state, Akpabio emphasised that it was not true that he was quitting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He however noted that Ikot Ekpene senatorial district is a positive force and influence in the state which has always contributed immensely to the rapid growth and development of the state.
Calling for all hands to be on deck in working towards the total transformation of the state, Akpabio urged the people to remain united and focused in order to achieve the laudable developmental ideals and agenda of the PDP.
The former state governor equally enjoined the people to continue in their support for the success of the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel for the overall transformation of the state.
He used the forum to announce the formal endorsement of Emmanuel for second term in office.
“Here and now, we, the Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, all stand to formally endorse Governor Emmanuel for another term in office in 2019 in view of his remarkable leadership,” Akpabio stated.
Senate Minority Leader thanked the state Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, for hosting and giving them a sense of belonging and political direction.
The deputy governor, who hosted the meeting, called on leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in the Ikot Ekpene senatorial district of the state to remain steadfast in their support for the administration of Emmanuel in ensuring even development in the state.
He said the meeting became imperative in view of the need to sustain the platform for interaction with the people of the senatorial district as well as offer government the much needed opportunity for feedbacks from the people.
