EKEDC Celebrates Amoda at Retirement, Book Launch

The management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) was full of appreciation to their former Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Oladele Amoda, who retired from the company after 35 years of meritorious service, while he also used the epoch event of launch his auto-biography.

The 800-seater capacity hall of Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos was filled to the brim with dignitaries across all sectors in attendance to honour the outgoing helmsman of the firm.

Amoda joined the defunct Nigeria Electric Power Authority (NEPA) in 1983 as an engineer served in various capacity within the organisation until his appointment as MD/CEO of EKEDC in 2011 and the quality of guests confirmed the respect and regards the celebrant commanded in the sector.

Aside celebrating his exit from EKEDC, the occasion also afforded Amoda the opportunity to launch his autobiography titled: ‘Forget Not His Benefits’, a book that showcases the lifetime, lifestyle, strengths and weaknesses of the celebrant.

Leading traditional rulers to the event was the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akinolu, as well as the paramount ruler of Iperu in Ogun State, Oba Tijani Adetunji Akinloye, the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo. Also the board of directors of EKEDC led by its Chairman, Mr. Charles Momoh, was duly resprepresented.

The chairman described Amoda as a visionary man whose contribution to the company cannot be underestimated.
To emphasis the vital role that Amoda can still play with EKEDC, Momohat the event also announced the immediate appointment of Amoda as an adviser to the board.

From former colleagues and subordinates, the goodwill and diligence of Amoda became the cynosure of all eyes at the colourful event.

Even the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was represented at the event by member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot.

Reviewing the book, the reviewer, Ola Odutola described the book as a chronicle of the life of the celebrant, which he said could inspire the future generation.

The presentation of the book was conducted by the Senior Pastor of Trinity House Church, Lekki, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, who also prayed for the celebrant and his family.
