No fewer than 50,000 children are expected to be immunised against measles in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The Director, Primary Healthcare of the council, Ibrahim Isa Jabo, stated this Thursday at the launch of the campaign against measles at the palace of the District Head of the council area.
Jabo, who said the aim of the campaign was to eradicate the disease in the area, noted that the council was targeting children between the age of nine and 59 months during the vaccination exercise.
He disclosed that the council received over 60,000 doses of vaccines from the state government to ensure adequate coverage of the area.
The Director further said vaccination centres would be located in health facilities and schools against the house-to-house immunisation being used during the polio immunisation exercise.
