N-Power Beneficiaries Commend FG, Beg for Permanent Jobs

Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

N-Power beneficiaries in Ekiti State have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for engaging many youths in Nigeria through the programme to curtail the rate of youth unemployment in the country.

The President of N-Power beneficiaries in the state, Mr. Darasola Oladimeji, gave the commendation in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during the one year celebration of the group, describing the president as “a man who is on a mission to tackle the poverty rate in Nigeria”.

Oladimeji noted that the initiative has brought hope to many youths by the monthly payment of N30,000 stipend with the provision of electronic devices for the beneficiaries all over the country.

“Another set of beneficiaries were already selected to be part of the great opportunity which will be inducted any moment from now,” he said.

The N-Power beneficiaries called on the federal government that at the end of their two-year programme, government should grant them permanent employment or grant them financial award to enable them to set up their own businesses.

It is a nice one. Unlike the PDP poverty elevation programme where you have to know somebody that know somebody before you are considered. I do know people, at least two people who does not know anybody, rather all they were required to do was to apply on line and they were taken – I bet you know what 30,000 Naira will do for somebody that don’t have such money before: Now he/she don’t have to beg mum/dad/friend for money to go see friends, to buy little things like shaving/pad etc. This govt. is not perfect as there is no perfect govt. anywhere but we have got to praise it where it’s doing well

From 1999 to 2015 the banking, telecoms, cement and airlines expanded and created hundreds of thousands of jobs and tax revenue.

It was all made possible by PDPs privatization & deregulation programs.
APC promised to replace all that with their own feudal policy of handouts and stipends and they’ve done just that.

It’s left for reasonable people to decide which can serve the Niger-area better.

but there are other similar programs in the past that never worked. rather they were used as conduit for corruption. They deserve some credit on this one.

NPower is a welfare package. It’s The Dole, the worst kind of policy for Nigeria. Basically creating or should I say strengthening a culture of getting paid for doing nothing.

This sort of thing is why a majority of Nigerians elected APC. Feudal-Socialist ideology. This will destroy whatever little PRODUCTIVITY there is.
