Battle for Nigeria Bankers Games Semi-finals Hot up   

Action continues this weekend as other financial institutions will battle for remaining tickets for the semis of the football event at the on-going Nigeria Bankers Games at the Yabatech Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos, after the United Bank of Africa has picked up the first semi-finals ticket

UBA defeated Ecobank by 2-0 to seal their place as the first team to pick the last four ticket in the championship.

In other games decided, First Bank pipped Union Bank by a lone goal, Sterling Bank also lost by a lone goal to Fidelity Bank.

First City Monumental Bank will square up with Ecobank, Union Bank will duel with Sterling Bank in football, just as all the participating teams will also do battle in chess, scrabble and table tennis at the YabaTech indoor hall (Alumni Building) this weekend.

Speaking on the Games, the Chief Operating Officer, MediaVision Limited – organisers of the event, Mr Jimmy Sogbesan informed that the games had been competitive as athletes had resolved to outwit each other in order to win laurels for their various organisations.

The competition which is in its 17th season is unarguably the biggest corporate sporting event in the banking industry. It is designed to bring staffs, family and friends of the banking industry together in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
