Federation Wants Muaythai at Sports Festival

The Muaythai Federation of Nigeria, MFN, has written to the 36 states of the federation including the federal capital territory to reintroduce the sport across the country.

The federation is currently pushing to have the sport listed among the scoring sports at the next National Sports Festival.

To this end MFN has submitted a letter of re-introduction to that effect to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung.

President of the federation, comrade Egonu Eligbaesor Paul, who led members of the board to the just concluded national U-17 Youth games in Ilorin to show solidarity says they are pleading with the federal ministry of sports and social development and national sports commission to give their sporting assistance and approval for scoring after they met federal government’s requirement on demonstrations, also seeking for the approval and a Secretariat for the Federation.

The federation is hoping to feature as a scoring sport at the 2018 NSF. After Demonstrations at both  Edo 2002 and Gateway 2006 ‎ and also  organizing national championships and technical courses in upgrading  Muaythai to technical standard on IOC notice and Acknowledgement.

Egonu promised that they would comb the nooks and crannies of the country  in its bid to develop the sport.
