The leading beverage manufacturer in Ghana, Kasapreko Company Limited, has rebranded its flagship product, Alomo Bitters.

The rebranding involves the re-packaging of the product in a new, stylish bottle with an hologram sleeve which provides a tamper proof seal of authenticity, mitigating against counterfeiting and ensuring the safety and purity of the product.

“Since it was launched in 1999, Alomo Bitters was in the same bottle,” Kasapreko’s Managing Director, Richard Adjei, said at a press conference in Lagos announcing the rebranding.

So, according to Adjei, the rebranding was designed to appeal to more customers and give the product “a more premium look.”
However, he stressed that despite the new look bottle, Alomo Bitters’ content, “an invigorating blend of herbal extracts from carefully selected and scientifically researched tropical plant extracts”, remains the same. “We say thank you to all our customers for their patronage,” he said.

As part of the rebranding process, Kasapreko also introduced a new 30ml satchel of Alomo Bitters, to increase access to the product and launched a campaign theme ‘Confido’, which plays on the word ‘Confidence’.

Alomo Bitters, which is a herbal liquer made from carefully chosen tropical medicinal plant extracts, was conceived by Kasapreko’s Founder, Dr. Kwabena Adjei in the mid 90s. In 1995, he approached the Centre for Plant Medicine Research in Ghana for a collaboration into the development of the product and the first bottles were first sold commercially in April 1999.
