Delta APC Eulogises Late Senator Okpozo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State led by Chief Nathaniel Omo-Onyeke has praised the leadership qualities of late Senator Francis Okpozo, saying his spirit will propel the party to wrestle power from the ruling Peoples Democtatic Party (PDP) come
2019.

The late Senator Okpozo from Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North local government area of Delta was the deputy speaker, defunct Bendel state during the regime of Prof. Ambrose Alli of blessed memory.

The yet to be buried senator also a senator, also represented Delta South senatorial district under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the aborted 3rd Republic; and a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the APC before his demise December 23rd last year at a private hospital in Benin City, Edo state.

Omo-Onyeke, who made the declaration when the party elders and the state Caretaker Committee paid a condolence visit to the late Okpozo’s family in Benin City and his home town, Ozoro, said APC will pursue the dreams and vision of late Senator to ensure that the party take the reins of powers in order to sustain his memory.

Emphasising that late Chief Okpozo was a fighter for justice and equity throughout his life time, a legacy that he left behind for all his followers and admirers, Omo-Onyeke described him as one anointed by God to make a change in Delta State but died at a time the party
needed him most.

He however promised that the party’s leadership would sustain late Okpozo’s legacies to preserve his leadership qualities which stood him out as a symbol of the party’s unity in the state.

The Caretaker chairman therefore assured Okpozo’s widow, Mrs Anna Okpozo and his children and other family members that the party would not abandon the them even after the burial ceremonies would have been
done.
