Armed policemen from Abuja have invaded Ekiti State to begin indiscriminate arrest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, top government officials and 11 members of the state House of Assembly for alleged stockpiling of arms during the June 21, 2014 governorship election.

The policemen were led by one Mohammed Abubakar, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) fron the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Abuja.

The Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, who made this known in a statement issued last night, said the new plot was an aftermath of the failure of the Department of State Services (DSS) to achieve the plot of coercing the House of Assembly members to impeach Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The government said the indiscriminate arrest was to begin last night and that the policemen arrived Ado Ekiti, the state capital with Mr. T.K.O. Aluko and the state All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Jide Awe.

“We are aware of the arrival of policemen from Abuja to Ekiti State with the intention of arresting 11 members of the House of Assembly, two PDP leaders per local government and some other top officials of the government.

“Ridiculously, the offence for which the policemen are to embark on this indiscriminate arrest is owing to T. K. O. Aluko malicious outburst that those listed for arrest stockpiled arms during the governorship election conducted in Ekiti, close to two years ago.

“This plot is in furtherance of the APC’s plot to destabilise the government of Ekiti State just because of Governor Fayose’s hard stance on President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC government policies.
“The question is, what was the arms they claimed were stockpiled used for? Was anyone killed or attacked during the election?

“And why is the police not arresting the APC Chairman, Jide Awe who is wanted for alleged murder and TKO Aluko, who was declared wanted by the court for perjury, and instead providing security cover for them?
“We therefore wish to alert Nigerians on this new plot and state that Ekiti people will resist any attempt to use the police to harass innocent citizens of the state.

“Democratically, we are entitled to our views on any issue in Nigeria and we won’t succumb to intimidation and harassment from any agency of the federal government.”

Fayose,, are you the only opposition governor in Nigeria? Are you saying that other opposition governors who has been quietly improving the lots of their states are political simpletons? Why do you always like to attract the most odious and obnoxious attention to yourself instead of attracting attention to your state through laudable programs you are or have executed? I believe you are suffering from a kind of neurosis that make someone to be afraid of the unknown. Why don’t you seek some help?

With this post, I hereby change your name to CORRECTMOUTH.
I also think the media is giving Fayose too much attention

      • Victor

I think you should be ashamed for supporting impunity on the part of this lawless APC led federal government.

        • Owaikhena

You were probably out of the when PDP and Fayose used the soldiers, DSS and police to arrest and chase APC leaders out of Ekiti during the 2014 governorship election. Fayose thought there would be no tomorrow. Why is he complaining now?

          • wonders loveday

U are a shame for supporting lawlessness

          • Basketmouth

Can you even define lawlessness? Can you compare the impunity and the mind boggling corruption under Jonathan with whatever your imagination is calling lawlessness under Buhari? Objectivity is a valuable tool in the market of ideas. Empirical argument is not sustainable when it is based on hate and ethnic phobia. This is 21st century my friend. Let the change start with you. You cannot change others until you are able to change yourself..

GOD BLESS U.APC (ALL PROMISED CONCELLED) IS A FRAUD AND CANNOT EVEN TOLERATE CRITICISM.WE ARE WAITING FOR 2019 TO VOTE THEM OUT.A PARTY THAT HAS DENIED ITS MANIFESTO IS NOT FIT TO RULE NIGERIA.

    • Victor

Fayose is a Nigerian and has every right to err his opinion on national issues. Everybody must not agree with Buhari and his policies. After the DSS failed in their first bid to try to use the state law makers against the government/governor of Ekiti, the government is not satisfied and are embarking on plan B. The truth remains that they will continue to fail, and i think at this time, Buhari and his APC should bow their heads in shame.
