Presidency Disowns #ISTANDWITHBUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari

By Tobi Soniyi

The Presidency on Friday disowned the #Istandwithbuhari  advocacy group and demanded that the group should stop further claims of alliance with the Buhari Administration.

In a statement ‎issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, through which he denounced the group and its hashtag, the presidency also directed the persons behind the controversial #Istandwithbuhari  group to stop using President Muhammadu Buhari’s name and that of his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari to promote themselves and their activities.

The statement said: “Among other reasons, we have found it necessary to distance the Presidency from the #Istandwithbuhari  group because its premature and ostentatious celebration  of the present administration’s achievements is totally  inconsistent with President Buhari’s philosophy of service with humility.

“While the present  administration has indeed recorded significant successes in its priority areas of improving security across the nation, ending the Boko Haram insurgency, curbing official corruption and revamping Nigeria’s economy, President Buhari is well aware that his government still has a lot of national challenges to overcome.

“The President prefers to give his fullest attention to addressing those challenges without the unsolicited and unwelcome distraction of untimely praise-singing from groups with dubious and questionable motives.”

He wouldn’t have denounced this group before the elections. Hypocrisy!!
This country is either on a standstill or backsliding, meanwhile, life is so rosy for Shehu Garba and his principal. People are suffering, no light, no fuel, no jobs, Boko haram is still here and effective, economy is in shambles, dictatorship is revisiting us. They recover looted money, what do they do with the funds? Lock it up in a CBN safe. Never a way to run a modern democracy.

When they were gearing up the support for buhari as a newly elected president people were happy that he will transform Nigeria but today Nigeria has been deform. Cos of authoritarianism. In the sense that he wants to order and live as the one giving authority. Nigeria is too big for buhari to handle. And with failed promises and high expectation of the people nothing has been done tangibly. Fuel scarcity has lingered for weeks now and yet do we still be shouting chain nor change? Where re welcome going from here.what about buharinomics or buharinometre as it is fondly clamoured for? So we should think before we say things or speak for no mans conscience is worth our pain especially politicians. Let’s live for peace and swallow our pride .

Very clever reaction , I must confess. If you stand with Buhari, the next question will be on what achievements? Since the answer will surely be embarrassing and in the public space, better to stop any searchlight on incompetence and absence of ideas on national rebirth. Better to hide in the ignominy of non-performance and continuous blame game. Sai Baba!! Sai One Chance!!

      Achievments –

Preserved the integrity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by

      – Locking up the mad dog Nnamdi Kanu
      – Killed many Christian “Biafran” protesters in Aba

And there’s nothing anybody can do about it.
