Memorabilia and personal items from Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse are set to go under the hammer, reports Sky News.

The Music Icons and Sports Legends auction features 43 Whitney Houston items, including dresses from tours and awards ceremonies as well as her passport and jewellery.

Houston's dresses are expected to sell well over their £1,300 starting price.

"Yes, there's a huge interest already in the Whitney Houston items," said Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auctions.

Also featured in the auction is Elvis Presley. Among the Presley items on auction are a pair of TCB sunglasses and a lock of his hair, preserved by his personal hairdresser.

"Again, it seems like an unusual item but we've sold vials of hair from Elvis in the past for, in the region of $15,000 (£9,500)," said Nolan.

A Jackson Five outfit ensemble and a custom made red jacket with the King of Pop's initials on a chest patch are the top Michael Jackson items up for sale.

Other items featured in the auction are the robe worn by Amy Winehouse for the Rehab music video, several Lady Gaga and Madonna performance outfits, Justin Bieber's costume from a 2011 Super Bowl commercial and John Lennon's signed registration card for his Rolls Royce.

The Sports Legends portion of the auction features the Olympic torch carried by Muhammad Ali during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

The torch is signed and includes a photograph of Ali holding it.

The Music Icons and Sports Legends Auction will take place on June 23 and 24 in Beverly Hills.
