Nigerian golfers are confident of doing well in Nairobi
Nigerian golf star, Lateef Lasisi, assured of great outing at the 72-hole Kenyan Open billed to tee off on Thursday.
Lasisi, Gboyega “Teko”Oyebanji and Sunday J. Odegha will participate at the national golf championship of Kenya at the famed Muthaiga Golf Club.
The party will depart for Nairobi tonight with the high hope that the hard work put into preparations in the last week would yield great dividend.
Lasisi, the only local player to win the Nigerian Open, said last night they would justify their invitation to the event expected to be dominated by professional players from Europe.
The Nigerian threesome trained for several days at IBB Golf and Country, Abuja, whose character is said to be similar to Muthaiga.
“We have committed sufficient time to preparing for this tournament and we are well set now. I am looking forward to the event. It will be a worth while experience playing with Teko and Odegha, who are great players,” Lasisi said.
About 156 players have registered for the tournament now in its 43rd year. The Kenyan Open which listed on the European Challenge Tour is sponsored by Barclays Bank.
